At last week's meeting Steve Cullen of USUC announced a partial victory for mental health services campaigners. The council has acknowledged the need for drop-ins and group sessions, and has made a suitable building available. This is a tribute to the amazing determination of USUC campaigners, who have left no stone unturned in this battle.
However, the battle continues - this time it is to prevent the privatisation of the support workers' service. USUC campaigners have pledged to support UNISON in the keeping the service in-house.
